What Is My Role as Your Attorney?
The following are the primary roles of an attorney in the system.
The first is to make sure that the claims administrator for the insurance company do his/her job and provides all the benefits the injured worker requires. This means handling routine problems prior to the injured worker becoming permanent and stationary, such as obtaining authorization for medical treatment, handling delays in late payments and obtaining permanent disability advances.
The next role is to ensure that the best possible medical evaluation is obtained to determine the extent of disability. This evaluation is either done by the treating physician, a physician agreed on by the attorneys or one chosen by the injured workers' attorney. All resolutions are based on the extent of disability, and obtaining a complete final evaluation by a physician who is sympathetic to the injured worker is pivotal.
The final and most important role is to bring the claim to finalization, which sets forth to the injured worker what they will receive, as well as the extent of any residual benefits. I vow to provide the injured worker peace of mind that someone is in your corner fighting head to head with the insurance company to get you back to work, to get you lifetime medical treatment for your injuries and to get you a fair and final settlement to your case.
